Intrepid Hearts

Its finally here! My new album Intrepid Hearts has been slowly curated from the nearly 100 songs I’ve written in the past two years. Its light, its fun, its positive and I’m proud of it. Check out the incredible album art created by my love Becca Rosser! Please share it with everyone you’ve ever known!

To My Daughter

I was just a boy, barely seventeen
Good fortunate always smiled on me
I had philosophies on life and most of all love
But life leaves its mark on a man while love burns him up

I played a hand and came up a full house
And I made a stand like a mighty mighty mouse
This world is so big but it grows small with a child in your arms
My daughter is a fireball and I’m just the spark

We are taught to think and live on our own terms
But that there are mistruths is the first lesson I’ve learned
I’ve tried to believe in something so I could share with you a confidence
Thats theres reasons for everything but thats for you to decide

Your tiny hands are how I measure time
And the day will come when they fit into mine
It goes without saying that I am now and forever yours
You’re my greatest triumph in this world
Always my little girl

House For Two

We often hope that through the passing of time our relationships will stand true. That no matter what challenges befall us, we’ll be able to come through on the other end, hand in hand.

I’ve watched people stay together despite themselves, and spread apart when they ought to fight for each other. Yet I still find it within me to hope beyond hope that my invested love will carry on throughout my life.

This song is a nod towards the unseeable future. A vow to light a beacon in the distance that we can both return to no matter what storms push us apart.

Say you’ll be mine, wherever this road takes us
When the house is for sale, and the kids are all grown
Say you’ll be mine, I’m not sure if I’ll believe you
But every little bit helps, if it all goes to hell

If suddenly I’m cynical, or critical of you
Thats not the version of me I wanna be
I just wanna show you how my heart has grown

I can build this house for two
I can live this life with you

Say I am yours unconditionally
And we’ll learn what that means
Probably the hard way
So I am yours for better or for worse
We’re scared that things will change,
Or that they’ll always stay the same

I can build this house for two
I can live this life with you

You’re not my mother you’re not my child nor my prize
You’re just a little bit of the good life
All we are is all we dare to be alone
So won’t you call me home

I can build this house for two
I can live this life with you
